Critical Finding
The WHO condemns drinking water with a uranium level higher than 15 µg/L. South Africa's municipal water averages over 470 µg/L — more than 31× the safe limit. Cancer is caused from exposure at 15 µg/L. This is one heavy metal in one category of contamination.
Industrial chemicals are pumped into rivers with no attempt at neutralisation or filtration. The mixing of some of these chemicals is causing lethal toxic compounds that are rendering rivers sterile — no biological life — and highly radioactive. Water contamination from Gauteng is poisoning river systems running through Mozambique into the Indian Ocean. Consumption of municipal water is driving illness and disease to levels never before recorded.
